The Lonely lady (New fiction series by Lady Magick
Monday, July 23, 2007, 01:07 AM [Fantasy story]
She came upon the clearing in the next town. Soon others would follow. And one by one a city of tents would be erected to capture the attention of bored villagers. She set up her tent while her two daughters danced about and bickered. It was better than being in the big house in her village. There would be none of the of the her own towns people her to wisper about her. To wonder why she chose to live this way instead of the nice life of a wife. For my freedom she thought.
She set up her tent and wares. The children would need dinner and a fire needed to be made. this freedom was different than any other she had ever had. She had only a faded memory of her mother selling her into slavery. After that life was more complicated.
She put her children in there bed rolls and promised there would be dancing and music in the days to come. She could here the other wagons rolling in. She saw the her old friend Natasha's cart. Natasha read fortunes and made potions for frustrated townswomen. She had a brightly colered cart and a full brood to help her set up. the lonely lady waved Natasha towards her. Natasha halted her cart and got out to greet her friend. "Lady Compton how goes it?" Natasha beamed.
" OH stop you I am called Pearl around here." " I am no longer really considered a lady anymore you know." Pearls head lowered a bit with silence. it really wasn't all that bad not being a lady anymore, it was just how other labled her that mattered and how she was treated. Her duaghters would be safe from such judgements they were well loved in both worlds. She handed Natasha a mug of hot mint tea. A drink she had learned to make a life time ago in a harem. The two women sat by the fire as Nashas brood of stong boys unloaded and set up encampment.

The lonely lady (New fiction series by Lady Magick
Thursday, July 5, 2007, 03:23 PM [Fantasy story]
After being in the parade for the celebration of midsummer the village was crowded. She drove her wagon down the crowded road. Her daughters in the back of the wagon wearing there newly made gypsy garments. All the work they had all put into looking pretty for the celebration was done. Now the two wee ones needed to be fed. Her wagon was completely stopped. Crammed in the tiny lane with the other villagers. That was when she saw his face and recognized his ancient chariot. I was one used long ago he treasured it. He smiled at her, at first not knowing who she was, then he recognized her. His eyes widened and his smile grew broader.
She remembered him too, she had been thinking about his touch lately. He was the last to touch her in a very long time. " Hi were you in the parade?" she asked . He nodded. " We were too." she said. His face made her blush and tingle. He was a rouge that rarely told the truth and was only sensitive before lovemaking. And quickly gone after. His smile and charm had a way of making her forget that in lonely moments. " Are you not going to stop so i can talk to you?" " I can't she said as the wagons began to move again. " I am a porter at Sir Richard Huntly's Manor" he shouted. the wagons moved on.
She missed his touch but not him. the wagon rolled and she tried to put it out of her mind. She was about to see a lively display with her former husband. It was odd being a gypsy and a lady at the same time. Her merchant husband had been enchanted with her youth long ago, but she soon found out that his eye and heart wandered often. After having his children she was quite insulted. Not being a lady of birth she saw no reason to remain married to a man who wandered with his heart. her untamed nature had enough of the subservient duties of a merchants wife. She preferred her wagon. For the children she maintained a lady's lifestyle of domesticity. there father would spend much time with them and they received education. She did venture off to do her Gypsy magick and participate in that culture. She would even bring her children to have that experience.
But the end of her marriage had left her heart broken and her soul lonely and wandering.
